Bright skies ahead
The outlook in the long term for the Asia Pacific aviation industry has never been brighter. According to a report by Frost & Sullivan, the airline revenue forecast for the Asia Pacific region for the period 2009 – 2020 will rise from US$130 billion in 2009 to US$270 billion in 2020. Asia Pacific is expected to dominate about 40% of the global airline revenue by 2020.
The rising GDP rates across Asia and the increased number of the affluent population will lead to higher demand on cabin interiors, greater segmentation and attention to the design as well as a suitably connected cabin. At Asian Aerospace 2013, airline executives will present the latest designs, inflight entertainment, connectivity and passenger services. An engaging strategy forum will identify the trends that will shape the cabin and airline business in Asia.
Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO)
Asia is emerging as an important hub for MRO, given the labour intensive nature of MRO services. In recent years, China has been able to corner a significant share of the Asian MRO market
China has emerged as a major driver of growth in the aircraft MRO business well beyond Asia. Industry analysts have forecasted that China would represent 5% of the world’s MRO output and a third of all Asia-Pacific activity by the end of 2010. According to the latest research by Frost & Sullivan, the China market grew from earning 10.3% share of Asia-Pacific MRO revenue in 2000 to 21.5% in 2009 and in doing so matches Singapore in market share. During the same period, Japan, the third largest MRO revenue earner, slipped slightly from 16.6% to 16%. “The core of aerospace MRO activity is shifting towards Asia, with China and India expected to grow at the highest rate,” said Frost & Sullivan.
At Asian Aerospace 2013, you will have a chance to engage with key industry executives from the international MRO community and connect with a versatile array of MRO related exhibitors at the event.
