Hamilton Sundstrand has won a follow-on supply deal from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) for the C919 for the aircraft's ram air turbine emergency system.

Comac has previously selected Hamilton Sundstrand subsidiary Kidde Aerospace & Defense to supply the integrated fire and overheat protection system on the C919 while Hamilton's Ratier-Figeac business is supplying the aircraft's pilot controls, including side sticks, rudder brake pedals, speed brake control level, control panel and thrust control quadrant.

In addition to the 30 kVA electric ram air turbine, the emergency system in Hamilton Sundstrand's latest C919 win includes a generator control unit, auto deploy control unit, actuator, stow panel and generator line contactor.

Hamilton Sundstrand has also formed a joint venture with AVIC Electromechanical Systems Company of China to design and manufacture the C919's electrical power system.
